Hill’s Hardware Hank Expansion!

Opportunity knocked and now they’re knocking down walls. If you’ve been into Hill’s Hardware Hank lately, you’ve noticed that their store has expanded.
Over the years, the paint selection and paint shopping experience has grown. As a Weber Grill retailer, they continue to sell more grills every year since they can offer the same prices as out-of-town big box stores. Hill’s also became an official UPS shipper, plus they are offering more household items. When you add all that up, the current store layout was proving to be too small.
When the building next door to the Hardware store came up for sale, it seemed like a great opportunity to expand the store. Now they just needed to figure out how to do it. To get things started, we recommended they talk to the Southeast MN Small Business Development Center to help them formulate a business plan for expansion. From there, Hill’s worked with the Wabasha Port Authority and with us at First State Bank on financing the purchase of the building.
Now that the building purchase is complete, Hill’s is making use of the expanded layout. For now, the extra space is being used to sell Christmas merchandise and Weber Grills. In March, the plan is to do a major reset of the whole store and add an even bigger variety of products.
Come down to Hill’s Hardware Hank to check out the new space and see all that they have to offer.
